Terms of Service

Welcome to Corneroom. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Corneroom mobile application and website (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using Corneroom, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About Corneroom

Corneroom is a global platform that connects people who have spaces to share (“Hosts”) with people looking for spaces (“Guests”). Spaces include but are not limited to sleeping accommodations, workspaces, showers, boats, and social venues. Corneroom is a marketplace — we do not own, manage, or control any listed spaces.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, book spaces, or list spaces.
• By using the Platform, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
• You must provide accurate and complete registration information.

3. User Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
• You may delete your account at any time (see Account Deletion).

4. Host Responsibilities

As a Host, you agree to:

• Provide accurate listing descriptions, photos, pricing, and availability
• Have the legal right to offer the space (own it, lease it with subletting rights, etc.)
• Comply with all applicable local laws, regulations, zoning rules, and tax obligations
• Maintain a safe and clean space that matches the listing description
• Respond to booking requests in a timely manner
• Honor confirmed bookings unless cancellation is made per your stated cancellation policy
• Not discriminate against guests based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, nationality, disability, or any other protected characteristic

5. Guest Responsibilities

As a Guest, you agree to:

• Use spaces respectfully and in accordance with the host's house rules
• Arrive and depart at agreed-upon times
• Leave the space in the condition you found it
• Be responsible for any damage you cause to the space or its contents
• Not exceed the maximum occupancy stated in the listing
• Communicate honestly and respectfully with hosts

6. Bookings and Payments

• Bookings are confirmed when the guest completes payment and the host accepts (or via Instant Book).
• All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Corneroom does not store payment card details.
• Corneroom charges a service fee on each booking, disclosed before confirmation.
• Host payouts are processed after guest check-in, per our payout schedule.
• Prices are displayed in the currency specified by the host unless otherwise indicated.

7. Cancellation Policies

Each listing specifies a cancellation policy set by the host (Flexible, Moderate, or Strict). Cancellation terms are displayed before booking confirmation. Refund amounts depend on the applicable cancellation policy and timing. Corneroom's service fee may be non-refundable depending on the circumstances.

8. Reviews and Ratings

• Both hosts and guests may leave reviews after a completed booking.
• Reviews must be honest, relevant, and not contain hate speech, threats, or personal attacks.
• We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our community guidelines.
• You may not offer incentives for positive reviews or threaten negative reviews.

9. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
• List spaces you do not have the right to offer
• Create fraudulent listings, bookings, or reviews
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Circumvent our payment system (e.g., arranging off-platform payments)
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Platform
• Upload malicious content, spam, or viruses
• Impersonate another person or entity

10. User-Generated Content

By posting content on Corneroom (listings, photos, reviews, messages), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform. You retain ownership of your content. You represent that you have the right to post all content you upload.

11. Non-Discrimination Policy

Corneroom is committed to building an inclusive community. Hosts and guests must treat each other with respect regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or age. Discrimination of any kind is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.

12. Limitation of Liability

Corneroom is a marketplace platform. We do not own, control, or inspect any spaces listed on the Platform. We are not responsible for the condition, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listing. Interactions between hosts and guests are between those parties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Corneroom's liability for any claim arising from use of the Platform is limited to the amount of fees you paid to Corneroom in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Intellectual Property

The Corneroom name, logo, and all associated branding are our intellectual property. The Platform's software, design, and content (excluding user-generated content) are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without written permission.

14. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises between a host and guest, we encourage parties to resolve it directly. Corneroom may mediate disputes at our discretion. For disputes with Corneroom, you agree to first attempt resolution through our support team before pursuing formal proceedings.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the applicable jurisdiction.
